October 27, 2007 at 8:21 AMI guess the reason 病忘 （bìngwàng） is Ｇｏｏｇｌｅ－ｈｉｇｈ ｆｒｅｑｕｅｎｃｙ is because of a book, 《病忘书》. The reason 易忘症 （yìwàngzhèng） is Ｇｏｏｇｌｅ－ｒａｒｅ is because it spelling should be 遗忘症

October 29, 2007 at 11:14 AMI started listing all the measure words 数量词 (shùliàngcí) I knew, thought there would only be a dozen but it's about 3 times more. I guess they are reasonably frequent -- Wenlin definitions : 包 bāo (for objects in bundles/packages/etc.) 本 běn m. (for books/periodicals/files/etc.) 笔 bǐ ①stroke (in writing Ch. characters) ②(for money/painting/etc.) 串 chuàn string; bunch; cluster (e.g. skewers) 道 dào (for rivers/topics/etc.) 床 chuáng bedding dry-cleaner 番 fān kind / (for times/occurrences) 根 gēn (for long slender objects) 口 kǒu m. (for mouthfuls/people/wells/etc.) 辆 liàng (for vehicles) 篇 piān (for articles/chapters/etc.) 片 piàn (for paper, tile, tablets, stretches of land/scenery, etc.) 套 tào (for sets/series/suites/etc.) 位 wèi (for persons) 只 zhī (for animals, vessels, some utensils, one of a pair of things) 座 zuò (for mountains/bridges/etc.) some of them we don't necessarily think of as measure words : 次 cì time; occurrence 对 duì (for pairs/ couples) 个 ge non-specific measure word 双 shuāng pair 些 xiē (for indefinite/small amount) and to elaborate on the list provided by Henning : 份 fèn (for copies of newspapers/etc.) share; portion 条 tiáo (for long, narrow things) 遍 biàn (for repetitive times/occurrences) 首 shǒu (for poems/songs) 面 miàn (for mirrors/flags/etc.) 把 bǎ ①(for things with handles) ②(for handfuls) ③(for certain abstract concepts) 段 duàn ①section; part ②paragraph 家 jiā (for families/businesses) 届 jiè year (of graduation); session (of conference/meeting)
