December 5, 2011 at 12:00 AMTo say 205, I believe you have to say, 二百零五。 In Chinese, it's necessary to have the "0" there as a place holder. So, saying 二百五 is saying the same as 二百五十，you're just leaving off the unnecessary "十“.
I'm used to using "两” instead of “二” because all my teachers drilled it into me that way.

December 4, 2011 at 11:50 AM穿越的话，我也是肯定想穿越到未来，因为，我们人类的生活水平一直越来越高，生活的方式也越来越舒服，老百姓的经济情况也越来越好。回去古代的话，很有可能自己的生活情况会变成很糟糕的。

December 4, 2011 at 10:47 AMI once gave a hong bao to a very close friend of four years who was starting a new business. But, I didn't pay attention to what characters were on the red envelope (I didn't know then that I needed to!) and, because I wanted to express my great desire for her success, I enclosed 8 hundreds, 8 tens, 8 singles, and 8 mao. I didn't know I should just settle for 880! Maybe she got a good laugh out of whatever was written on the envelope, and that I took the trouble to find 8 mao! I'm glad she was a close friend who knew me well! :)

December 2, 2011 at 3:10 PMHey, I'm with you, Grambers, we need a standard. Although, I would have gone the other way...I would say, since it's there, we should notate it. Ironic, since I had a dictation exercise (in another lesson) marked incorrect for NOT notating it! I'll remember when I get to this lesson's exercise's to be sure to not notate again! (Thanks for the heads up!)
