In New York, I got ticketed last month for riding my bike on the sidewalk. That's three points applied to my driving record. Makes me a little angry. The ticket I got is exactly the same one used for driving violations.

January 14, 2013 at 10:24 PMThe thing about the US is that in most parts, it is a car centered society. Pedestrians are 2nd class citizens and many crossings are dangerous, people are not used to dealing with people. In the bigger cities, like NY, drivers know there are many pedestrians and acquit themselves accordingly.
China, the streets were first built with walkers and horses and cyclists in mind, yes? Then retrofitted for cars.

But couldn't you just put yourself in the middle of a large clump of bicycle riders? Ha ha.
I agree, it's safer in the car. I just like the exercise.
