January 21, 2014 at 5:52 AMShanghai taxis are awful for doing that and often make me feel sick. I have to take my puppy to the vet every few weeks for injections and it's about half an hour away by taxi. She has thrown up in the taxi every single time so far!

November 28, 2013 at 9:25 AMI also had the same question so I asked my friends who are nearly all members. They said the party does allow foreigners to join, but they have to be quite high status/important to the country in some way and they have to be "selected" in the same way high flying Chinese school children are selected and groomed for party membership.

February 19, 2014 at 2:33 AMWhen living in Shanghai you have to use your imagination a little to figure out what people are saying to you, because nearly every word is somewhat similar but not the same as standard mandarin. To this day I stilol can't tell the difference between "10" and "4" in Shanghainese!
