June 4, 2010 at 10:39 PMI think the girl was trying to get out of standing in line to check the bags. The lines at the more trafficked stations can get pretty long. One time I saw a girl in a similar situation, carrying a small bag and trying to bypass the queue and the security person wouldn't let her. I missed what she said but I understood him: 没办法 - méibànfǎ - nothing to do (you have to check it).
Either 没办法 has not been covered in a lesson before or our Glossary has gone on strike once again.
