Thanks Pete. Your reply is really helpful. However, does that mean that I should skip those 成语 in the Adv podcasts too?

Hi Pete,

I'm sorry but I am not excited about the poem thing. However, I'm glad many others are.

Besides UP and Adv lessons, the other stuff provided by CPod are bonuses to me (and I'm grateful). At present, I am finding Adv lessons difficult due to the many 成语/俗语。I find they are not frequently used in everyday conversation and I have great difficulty remembering them.

Is there value in adding a show that gives us pictorial help in remembering 成语/俗语? Any other tips on how to remember them?

At the beginning of podcast, Jenny said that the guys are in a "不太好的情况". Can we also say: "不太好的状况"? When do we use 情况 and 状况?

You don't have to be funnier, Jenny. Just be yourself. You have a great personality and disposition. Envy Miantiao (that is if you accept his proposal...哈哈)

Good lesson! I'm enjoying the Upper Intermediate level very much and progressing well (but having problem with the Advanced level. Still too difficult but will get there...one day)

Thank you CPod.

On this Christmas day, may I share my favorite bible verse (1Tim1:15) "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst. " It is my favorite verse as I can identify with it.

So, to all the sinners and the righteous ones out there: "Merry Christmas"

And to everyone at CPod: "Merry Christmas too. Stay humble and keep up the good work. You are about the best"

changbiyuan,

There is a saying: "When the horse is dead, get off".  Don't stay around beating people to death.

You may not have noticed it but we have posted our views and moved on happily.

changbiyuan,

humour? pray tell me where so that i can fast-forward and not waste another 5 mins looking for it.

frankly, 20 secs of chinese lesson in a 5 mins "comedy?" video (6mins if you include buffering) is not funny at all.

Painful to watch 3 guys trying to be funny (but not at all). Wasted 5 minutes of my time.

Sorry, cannot be Paula Abdul here.
