November 17, 2009 at 6:33 AMI don't think 喽 is the same as 了. If it was, then wouldn't "吃饭喽" express some kind of change of state or completed action, like "吃饭了" would? Here it seems more like 吧 than 了.

October 13, 2009 at 4:14 AMIf anybody is interested, here is how I remember the character for shēn (深): it means "deep", so of course there's a water radical. Now imagine the part in the upper right is the arms and legs of someone swimming, and the water is so deep that a whole tree can fit between the swimmer's legs and the bottom of the water.
