Yes, this is extremely encouraging! Thanks for those words, huibert! Jenny and John are great teachers who make this possible and enjoyable for me. I like it here in Chinesepod. So, you'll have to listen to me for a while :p

Something funny I heard about the word太太(I'm not sure if it's real or not): We know that the character '大' means 'big'. So people saw a big lake and called it '大湖'. Then what did you call a lake which is bigger than a big lake? People decided to add one stroke to '大' and make it into another character which means 'very very big'. So they called the very very big lake '太湖' (It's a real lake in JiangSu Province and it's very big). Then for some reason, to address wives, people use 太. And it seems one 'very very big' is not enough...

The verb 靠 is very useful in this case. You can say 靠出口(chūkǒu-exit)的位子or 靠紧急出口(jǐnjíchūkǒu-emergency exit)的位子.

BTW, you spelled my name wrongly :p

It's about options i think. The more choices you have, the more difficult it is to make decisions. I have hard time picking food from food menu :(

It's John's fault :p I'd love to learn that song!

Hi mivida88,

It was me who said that word when we talked about "广场上". We use 上 when it's on a flat area (在平面的东西上面). 6:57. Thanks for bringing it up. Some poddies may have the same question.
