January 28, 2014 at 3:44 AMVera, I am, sort of an innocent bystander, but MGDB does include 模版 and defines it as template. I'm not sure, if MGDB is a definitive source, but I do use them on Windows. So, busybees isn't entirely hallucinating. I don't know what the source of his inner confidence is to know that Cpod is wrong and he is right. Perhaps, he is a world renowned scholar who is completely fluent in both English and Chinese, and he is generously contributing his wisdom here. Who knows?

January 14, 2014 at 3:45 AMYou guys are teasing me. It has been very dry this winter in California. So, there is very little snow in the mountains here. If you have some extra, can you send it?

January 12, 2014 at 6:02 PMFranky Lane was before my time. I've heard the name, but in the context of someone who was famous among folks older than me. When I was old enough to chose music I wanted to listen to, rock and roll was the dominant form of pop music. In comparison, the big band, melodious crooner music of my parents generation felt and feels pretty bland.

January 12, 2014 at 3:52 AM偶尔头疼很难忍着,相比折腿骨更难忍着,所以头疼的时候我会吃任何药尝试治疼,被中毒了,我就无所谓。

January 5, 2014 at 6:12 PMHere it is the poinsettias that come out during holiday season. They are red and green to match traditional Christmas colors. They seem to bloom right at the end of the year, or can be made to, I'm not sure. I think they grow them somewhere in Mexico where it is warm all year. Anyway, one puff of frozen air and they wither. And of course, every kind of pine tree, hunkers in fear until Christmas passes, lest it become a 圣诞树。

December 27, 2013 at 3:55 PMI'm glad the third lesson for this week was UI. Three lessons that are Intermediate or above is almost a normal week from my point of view. Thanks, CPod! I get a Christmas present I wasn't expecting.
There were a couple key points where new vocabulary colored the meaning of the dialog (why the 帅哥 argument wasn't persuasive, for example), but John and Dilu did a good job of explaining point by point, as usual. So, by the second playing of the dialog, I got it completely, for what it is worth. Dilu seems to have some strong feelings on this topic. So, her banter was maybe a little richer and complex than in a lot of lessons. I enjoyed that part.

January 29, 2014 at 3:50 AMThe media level lessons contain a link to the original material. There was a period were some of the original material were video clips and such, but the early media lessons, and the ones for the past couple years all have a link to a blog post, or written news article. In these cases, I think the linked material counts as a script.
