I think there aren't really 18 specific changes, just the grown woman is completely different from the little girl she once was.

Tingyun,

As usual, your post is quite informative. In the US, I think most people don't make distinctions between various schools of communist philosophy, nor try to understand the theoretical relationship between communism and socialism. Communism is just a pejorative word, where if the label sticks, there is no need for further understanding. Socialism is just a slightly less pejorative word. So, what you wrote is illuminating, if read with an open mind.

However, I think it is likely that if someone wants to truly understand China, especially, the political aspects of China, they would be well served to delve into the nuanced topics that you broached.

Best regards,

Mark

@Bohan2007, I've seldom, or never heard anyone say, capitalist America. So, maybe you should go with, 在中国共和党是唯一的有权利的党。

I believe the official name of China is 中华人民共和国, but I could be wrong. its one of those set phrases that requires memorization, and given time my mind has ways of rebelling and changing memorized things around.

I seem to have caught up to where I started studying media lessons as they came out.  So,   I can no longer use archive lessons to fill in in the off weeks when CPod doesn't publish a media or advanced lesson, without repeating a past lesson, but I repeated this one.  It seems easier the second time around.  I can appreciate that the blog post it is based on is thought provoking and well written, where before I struggled a bit to extract the meaning of each sentence.  I hope that means that my Chinese ability has improved  in the intervening three plus years.  Day to day, I never notice any improvement.
