February 9, 2013 at 4:16 PMYou may need to adjust your regional and language settings. Word tofus Chinese unless you install an "Asian language pack". When handling GBK encoded data, it often helps to set my code page to Chinese. Notepad will display gibberish unless you do this, for example. That has a side-effect of making some programs, that pay attention to locale display Chinese messages, which adds to the fun for me.
