"we" could be the "collective we"; the Chinesepod masses will raise up and picket Chinesepod offices demanding Chinese only lessons.
"we" could be the "you we"; my wife says, "we should take out the garbage tonight". This is a slightly indirect way of saying "the army of me" should take on this task.

July 22, 2014 at 4:36 AMI think there is something about this dialog that feels very Chinese to me. I don't think an American parent-child dialog would go quite the same, or at least, I don't imagine having this conversation with my children or parents. I think there is a little less matter-of-factness on this topic.
If a child is old enough to close the door to the bathroom, you wouldn't ask them what they're doing in there. I don't care if they're dyeing their hair blue, piercing their lip, or committing suicide, you just wouldn't ask. You'd also do the, "I have to pee really badly dance" for half an hour, or go outside and pee in the bushes, before inquiring.
