Nice work Pete! Being in some serious need of deeper cultural education, this show is what I need to 'light that fire'. Lucky I also sit opposite you so that I can quiz you on more intrciate issues such as the poet's style, and that of the era in which it was written.

BTW nice choice of Baker Street for the intro  and outro tunes. (See very bottom of screen)

And I must say that video with the special guest cracks me up every time (Nice work Pete and Marco).

@josht77 Totally, although in many Chinese companies, if they do that then you are entitled to a month's pay. They usually give you a month's notice so they can still get some work out of you before you leave.

Does anybody have a list of the many ways to say 'fired' in Chinese? I know 下岗， 炒鱿鱼， 解雇 - what else is there? How about redundancy package?

@Bababardwan I'm not sure about whether there are different gifts associated with various matrimonial milestones here in China - I'll have to ask. My wife and I don't normally give each other gifts for birthdays, Christmas or anniversaries - we buy each other stuff all the time and don't feel the need to limit it to certain celebrations. When we do give gifts on these important dates - they are always created with love by hand, computer etc (I made a flash video for my wife for Christmas).

@sushan Hey that's pretty cool, sometimes the  送 sòng (the escorting out to the street) is sometimes something that goes beyond just being polite to something that has to be done in order for the guests to be helped on their merry way home. I'm interested as to why your host was already in her pj's before you left...was she already pj'd before you arrived?

Woah! I guess a couple of comments must have slipped by me as I scanned the discussion before posting yesterday afternoon. Lets straighten out a few things: Debate is Great! Ele&Newbie lesson comments require English and/or Pinyin to go with the Chinese characters 汉字 hànzì - this is to keep it fair for the new and ele learners who should be allowed to easily understand what is written in the discussions relating to their levels (that of new and ele) straight off the sight.

I know that you all have your hearts in the right place and I/we appreciate your efforts and rich contributions to our community - but please play nice.

@Bababardwan Hehe, its cool man, I love this job and this product so much - I was recommending cPod to ppl since I started using it in 2005 - so hanging around the discussions for me when I'm at home is no biggie - with the advent of WIFI my macbook is always with me, especially when I'm on the couch - by all means don't hold back your posting - even though it's now 1am for you - zǎodiǎn xiūxi ba  早点休息吧  :)
