@dunderklumpen if you go to chinesepod.uservoice.com  you can leave any suggestions that you have for us - and vote on other suggestions you also deem worthy - in fact if you find the suggestion you were going to make already there - vote on in :)

Cool!, So glad that you guys liked it.

We had David's help with the editing for this one - I love the sound track he chose.

I had the actors prepping by breathing heavily with their mouths open and tongues hanging out for a few minutes in order to get that dry mouth in the desert feel during the recording session.

There were a couple of inconsistencies that I didnt pick up during the production but again, the soundtrack made up for them

Good job everyone: David (徐洲), Gu Cheng(顾城), Zhang Feng(张峰) and Lin Hui(林辉) our script writer !!!

Thanks for the feedback :D

Although we encourage all members of our community to participate in as many dicussions as you like we ask one thing for the benefit of our Newbie and Elementary users:

- If you wish to write in Chinese, please provide pinyin, and English translations.

We love to see everyone using as much Chinese as possible, for obvious reasons, but to be fair to our NEW and ELE users we ask you to adhere to the above. Thanks for your participation.

哈哈Sunix过奖了,其实大 is quite a few leagues in front.

哈哈 :hāhā : hehe 过奖了 :guòjiǎngle :overpraise/ flatter 其实 :qíshí : as a matter of fact 大山 :DàShān :Famous Canadian in China.

Miantiao, Yeah there are a lot of dodgy characters out there, although in retrospect its kind of cool how the better you get at the language, the more moeny you save - or at least the less money you spend huh. It's kind of like level up in a RPG game. lol. btw your writing is excellent, although I'm sticking to English as its an elementary lesson :-)

I remember the first electricity bill I got in China, it was at the end of my 1 year contract at a high school in 泊头市 (bótóushì - now a small city formerly known as  泊镇 bózhèn - Bo Town) in 河北省 (Héběi Province) back in 2003. I'd kept my A/C on for about 2 months straight during summer, and another 2 months in winter. I was seriously worried after I'd found out the A/C's chew the juice. I was like: 990kuài, bùkěnéng!  Zěnme zhème piányi?  九百九十块, 不可能!怎么这么便宜   :)

I have since come to seriously dislike A/C regardless of weather its for heating or cooling - too much of that dry freon cooled air messes with my throat.

Are there any A/C addicts out there with crazy power bills?

@ bababardwan Yeah I have yet to hear Brisso used to describe someone from Brissy, and I spent about 12 months there over the last 18 months... it's all in the pronunciation - Brisbanoit (not the French way ;) )

@ everyone You guys rock! Thanks again.

btw my name in Chinese is something I'll talk about in greater length tomorrow, as for now - I have audio reviews to record :D  (I like to take part in all facets of our lesson production)

Again thanks to you all for your welcomes and G'days (archtipol :p )

@baihuilin I personally think Kiwis have quaint accents, lovely countryside, and absolutely spectacular scenery.

@chiongzibide, bababardwan  I'm most proud to be representing Brisbane here @ cPod, and real pleased to have found some vocal fellow Bribanites in our community. btw Chiongzibide thanks for the suggestions (I choked on that question lol)

@Dunkerklumpen Hi! :)  I think the "small world eh" is probably the closest translation in this particular context.

Here's that tongue twister in 汉字 and pinyin.

扁担长板凳宽,
扁担绑在板凳上,
板凳不让扁担绑在板凳上,
扁担偏要绑在板凳上。

biǎndān cháng bǎndèng kuān
biǎndān bǎng zài bǎndèng shàng
bǎndèng búràng biǎndān bǎng zài bǎndèng shàng
biǎndān piānyào bǎng zài bǎndèng shàng

btw S.H.E totally butchered this togue twister in their song 中国话

@cassielin  I'd be more than happy to email the comment to Donny (if he is still using the same email address). I have a funny idea that the 汉办 has some publications that include most of our email addresses - many of us are receiving emails from random people.

@light487  hehe, everytime my parents come to China I get them to bring a few bottles of wine - gotta love Aussie wine. :)

@Cassielin  Thanks, the competition was heaps of fun (despite the cheesiness of the whole affair - or maybe because of it), all my friends from the competition are quite envious of my new position - and happy that they have a place to stay in Shanghai :D

@changye 哈哈 看到你那么客气的留言我也尿尿(sēi)咯!!!

@Jenny

Yes it is amazing how well a little bribery works. Haha. Jokes. Seriously, it's so much more fulfilling to enjoy good eats and drinks with a couple of nice people than by oneself - spread the love I say!
