December 29, 2008 at 5:33 AMI have to say that A-Niu is one of my favourite mando-pop singers as his songs are all so tongue-in-cheek. He has a great earlier song called 大肚腩 （dàdùnǎn)

Thanks for your insight, I just ran that by some local experts and they agreed that when remaining vague whilst talking about one's own age, a Chinese person would normally talk in terms of decades (20's, 30's etc.) rather than a specific age within that decade (25 yrs old), with a 大概 (dàgài) at the start - or a 差不多(chàbuduō)，左右(zuǒyòu) or (上下)shàngxià added on at the end.
eg. I'm in my 20's.
NOT: I'm 25 thereabouts.
Another great way to say that you are in your 20's is:
我二十岁出头. Wǒ èrshísuì chūtóu.
However, when talking about others' ages then yes, you can say 她大概二十五岁 Tā dàgài èrshíwǔsuì etc.
