November 16, 2011 at 12:17 PMI was wondering this exact same thing and asked my about it from my wife (she is from Tianjin). She (and her mother) told me that "冷" refers to colder things than "凉".
For this reason my wife considers "凉面" to be Chinese style cold noodles and "冷面" to be Korean style cold noodles (which has ice added to them).

November 3, 2011 at 12:31 AMWhen I visited Chengdu the breakfast included lot of things that were not bland at all. But on the other hand people in Sichuan are crazy about the spices :-)

October 28, 2011 at 12:38 AMIn the Expansion section there is a question "你知道怎么在网上买东西吗?" Even though the sentence already has a question word "怎么" there is also "吗" at the end.
This is because the question of the whole sentence refers to the "知道", right? Just wanted to make sure I got this right.

October 28, 2011 at 12:25 AMIn the dialog it is still "What should I address you" instead of "How should I address you" ;-)

September 7, 2011 at 1:39 AMI am living in China and I do not use my full finnish name (Miska Tarvainen) very often.
Luckily my first name is pretty simple to pronounce in any language (my last name is completely different story).
So now my "official" (as in my Chinese driving license) is 米斯卡.
