在上海我知道一个没有驾照开车的外国被警察抓住了。他差不多15天住在监狱。最关键的问题是他不仅没有驾照,而且他把一张假的驾照给警察。我觉得是因为假的驾照住监狱。

我还没听过这本课,但是我住在上海而感觉上海的污染越来越严重。几年前上海的污染果然比我家乡多,但是我以前感觉在中国城市其中上海的污染情况比较好,但是如今我的想法改了。

The transcripts... I've always stayed away from the transcripts. I guess it's okay and helps if you are the one doing the transcripts, but if you're learning the podcast through the transcript, I think it misses the point of a chinese podcast. I've always been my own judge of when I can move from one level to the next, and that point is when I could comprehend about 90%+ of the entire podcast (in the first listen) without any dialogue or transcript. This to me is the only way to measure how good you will be when put in a real world situation. This is what I like about Cpod, is that it is spontaneous and relates to the real world. I have textbooks for the the academia.

@siteng - I also just checked out clspod, and it is definitely not what I'd be looking for out of a podcast. I also hope cpod won't ever take that route.

Not sure where you live, if in China you can probably find it, if outside of China probably have to special order it:《对外汉语教学语法释疑201列》。This has been my grammar "go to" book. It is really good grammar book and the best I've found. It is around 400 pages of nothing but grammar, explanations and examples. One thing to note, the book has no English (or pinyin), those 400 pages are front to back all Hanzi. If you think you can manage with it all being in Chinese, then I'd say it is worth it to go out of your way to get this book.... I think this book is way better than the grammar books that try to explain Chinese Grammar in English.

一下我的到UI的经验。。。

差不多半年我一直在UI但是觉得一直什么步,然后有一天应该改我的日常学习,所以我天天下班之后始看中国电视剧,几星期后突然发现大部分之的故事和对话我都懂得而且大部分之的UI课程我也懂得。这个果然给我多一点的动力,而且给我提醒中文就是这样子,碰到一个plateau好像没有进步,但是只要功夫深,铁杵磨成针, 一下子发现自己的进步很多。

@menglelan - The thing I love about Chinesepod is that it has this more scattered approach as you call it. If it is too "text booky" I wouldn't even use it. Chinesepod is not the only source I use for studying. CP It is great for understanding the nuances of the language, the new trendy words, and daily usage in real China. Text books are great for the structured, textbook approach... they are also dry, boring and require an extremely high level of self motivation. I use the Boya series for my text book structured approach and supplement it with daily lessons of Chinesepod.
