henning, what did I say to elicit your response? My post had nothing to do with having or not having English in the lessons. I'm fine with the way things are. Please read it agan.

老师们,你们好。我很喜欢这个课程,真是很有意思。通常我不敢接近高级的课程, 可是我觉得这一个题目太有趣了。我很高兴地告诉你们我大部分都听得懂(我进步了吗?如果真是啦,我应该说谢谢)。

Sorry, I have to type in English now, my Chinese is not that 高级 yet.  How about a sequel or sequels to this, detailing the labour, the experience with the 月嫂,the 老公's experience, the difficulty encountered with babycare, breastfeeding, etc.? That would be something to look forward to. :-)

I am so glad to finally be able download this lesson. My downloads were just not working yesterday. Anyway, nice lesson...I'm happy to learn how to say "让一让". Can you also say, "别阻着我"?

Hehe, Auntie... so, do you consider yourself high-maintenance or not? What about you, Jenny, having lived in Singapore and Shanghai? Tell the truth please, although you both don't sound like you are at all. That's a compliment, by the way...;D

vann0000, I am getting hungry just reading your post, so after this I am going to start preparing dinner (not chicken rice unfortunately, just tofu and some veg). Thanks for your description of how authentic hainanese chicken rice is supposed to be prepared. It is almost exactly as how I've known it to be, except for the sauces which sound delicious. Cheers!

Wow! Lots of useful vocab in this lesson, but it's quite long and will take me a while to assimilate all the 生词 as I'm not really at this level yet, but I've understood the audio and it's great. I liked the 吃饱了没事干 and Jenny's explanation to John how difficult it is for a non-Chinese to understand why people say this. My mum used to say a cruder version of this when she was not happy about people idling their time away. See if anyone can guess it. It begins the same way followed by 等 。。。 

吃饱饭了,等 [blank][blank][blank]。

Acorrigan, I think the origins of this yummy chicken rice is definitely Hainanese, but I've heard that the Malaysian/Singapore dish is far superior in flavour. I haven't tasted the original one from Hainan but the Malaysia/Singapore one is certainly delicious. Across the board, the Singapore one tastes better than the Malaysian one.
