July 31, 2008 at 1:51 PMwe have multiple lessons at multiple levels about shopping, academia, food, travel, etc. Sounds like it would be good to have another lesson at another level about the farm.

July 31, 2008 at 12:25 PMto cladestinjo's point, it might be pretty helpful if cpod had a lesson about "the village". I remember that one of the women I worked with was from Hui county in Gansu province. She was 19. She kept telling my wife how much she hated helping her family farm, and that farming was hard work, and she didn't want to do it for the rest of her life. She was concerned that if she went back to the village, she'd end up marrying some dude there, and she'd end up farming for the rest of her life. It would give us cpodders a good set of vocabulary words that we don't already have (at least the lessons i've seen don't talk about the village at all), and we don't have to discuss politics or anything. Might be helpful to have this as an intermediate lesson. Farming with a hoe or behind a cow with a plow is tough, but in the US, younger people farming in an air-conditioned John Deere combine for the harvest could related to this girl's plight.

July 30, 2008 at 12:33 PMNot sure to where the "China surpasses US in Net numbers" link was supposed to point, but it doesn't point to a news article. It points to a questionable site that starts mentioning how it can crack Facebook, Myspace and other social networking sites. Just FYI.

July 28, 2008 at 3:11 PMHow about a list of some of the larger hardware and software vendors in Mandarin like:
Hewlett-Packard (HP)
IBM
CA (formerly Computer Associates)
Oracle
BMC Software
Toshiba
Symantec
McAfee
EMC
VMware
Novell
Red Hat
SAP

July 27, 2008 at 2:37 AMwith the variety of ways to modify colors, I guess I didn't really expect the simple, easy to learn Qing Wen this time. Pretty helpful lesson though. I think having a pdf with these vocabulary words would be especially helpful given the variety of ways to modify colors.

July 24, 2008 at 3:25 PMRemember, the Police said:
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
Ill be watching you
Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
Ill be watching you
Too bad they broke up. Sting just isn't the same

July 24, 2008 at 1:57 PMHi Amber, any guess as to when the revised lesson is going to be available? Also, will this lesson include the pdf as well?
Any kind of preliminary schedule for the redoing of lessons would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't have to be perfect (no software product schedule ever is), but it would be nice to get a sense of when revised lessons would be available. The old internet related lessons were great. Redoing them would make them better. Knowing that they'll be availabe a month from now, versus 6 months from now would help me and other users a lot. Thanks.

July 24, 2008 at 1:33 PMnot sure if anyone's still looking, but For anyone, how do you say, "everywhere else"?
For example:
"There was an accident on Route 3 just north of the NH/MA state line. That's why traffic was bad. Everywhere else traffic was bad because its raining hard"

August 1, 2008 at 12:40 PMThanks for this lesson. Good to hear other topics and get vocabulary in context. Maybe hearing more sceince and technology lessons at multiple levels would be good as well.
