Hi Connie, is it possible that we could have the English with the sentences in future QWs, as well as the pinyin and the Mandarin?  I bu jidele words like qíguài, and I don't really think I learned Shēngyúpiàn (even though it was in the podcast).  Thanks.

Hi Connie, how about giving us the sentences used in this lesson? Thanks.

Cpod in general: you guys have many subscribers asking for various features/updates and so on. It might be helpful to have an area on the site where we subscribers can get daily status on things like the updates to the old lessons. It would also be helpful for us subscribers to see where other subscribers would rank features if cpod were to invest the time/money to develop and release them. I was thinking that if pdfs for QW are that big a deal, then if enough of us ask for them, then cpod should do it. Conversely, if only 2 of the millions of cpod users want pdfs for QW, that should tell us two that we're not likely to get that feature anytime soon.

mikeinewshot, I know I can cut and paste the examples above from this lesson in the meantime,  but I would like to avoid having to go to each individual QW lesson and do it. And since cpod has the capability to create pdfs already, I didn't think it was that big a deal to create them for QW lessons also.

my take would be based on the Defense Language Institute (DLI) website.  So if you're dedicating 8-12 hour days, 5 days a week on mandarin, you could expect to be fairly decent in mandarin in about 14 - 16 months.

Could we get regular updates about what lessons have been newly rerecorded, instead of telling us that you've deleted stuff for us to learn from?  failing to keep users updated about the current status of the older lesson updates is a nice way to gracefully start losing loyal customers.

connie, is there any reason that cpod doesn't post the QW sentences in a pdf?  I think they would really be helpful  to further our intuition about the patterns, and trying to memorize patterns. Putting them in the comments section means always having to go to them in comments, and I would really appreciate having a downloadable version. Thanks.

Even in China, and certainly in the US, rarely is the "internet" down.  It's more likely server connection delays, local area connection issues (my DSL connection in Lanzhou wasn't the fastest i'd ever had).  I also got an earful from our IT guys when i told them I had problems connecting to applications back in the US from Lanzhou or Beijing or wherever.  It would probably be more helpful to have a lesson that very lightly discussed what application was running, and what you were doing when the connection was down. It doesn't have to be detailed, but it could have been broadened beyond just the typical frustrated banging on the machine.  I'm sure Cpod's IT guys could have easily written up  a few sentences that would be helpful to start diagnosing stuff. Like how to say, "i've still got an IP address" or something like that.

howdy, the lesson dialogue file is screwed up.  It only spits out garbled text on the web page, and it doesn't seem to be an audio file at all.
