Posted on: How to Use 了: Action Complete
February 9, 2017 at 2:38 AMThat part did seem odd. I've never heard this before. That you're forced to give more information. I thought Chinese was less formal then English. But this seems opposite.

January 5, 2017 at 11:30 AMWhat's confusing, is we were watching a Chinese TV show later that same day, and the person put in a sentence 么问题吗... as what question do you have left in the subtitle. but there were more words.

January 5, 2017 at 2:36 AMOh it took me a while to figure it out... Sorry. 你有问题吗?would work, I was used to saying it the other way.

January 5, 2017 at 2:27 AMAm I ok to ask -你有什么问题吗? as do you have any question(s)?I have and it has worked. But what is more proper. Apparently your saying that I'm asking if something is wrong with their heads... hehe
Edit: I realized my question is similar to Francos, but you still didn't really explain the proper way to ask. 'Do you have a question?' or 'do you have any questions?'

October 30, 2016 at 1:01 PMI'm in Shanghai now. I have to ask. Is it Gwilim's voice on the metro subway? "next stop century avenue..."
It's an unmistakable voice.

August 25, 2016 at 1:15 AMIs China another place, where many would never even consider taking home food? Or back to the office?
The part in the audio, where the person says, you just ate half. We are like umm Bonus -- Free food for the next day right?
If you try to cram more food than you can, eat in one session, you are wasting it anyway.

July 14, 2016 at 1:29 AMofficially this is true, but it seems when I hear this said, I doubt the natives are actually using these tones when saying 'deng-deng'. It sounds toneless, it is said so quick.
Posted on: Let's Do Math In Chinese!
April 21, 2016 at 1:20 AMI think what's implied, and in general, that in Chinese, there is an advantage, just because of the slightly simpler Character system. This is assuming you either grew up using it, or are extremely familiar with it. Numbers are built into how the Chinese think, there has been studies on this. This has led some to believe why Chinese generally do better in Math studies... maybe.

Posted on: Is This the Correct Stop?
July 27, 2017 at 1:21 AMMay I ask again. Is it Gwilm's voice on Shanghai's subway system, when the announcer speaks in English?
