WC sits in my Chinese/English dictionary between Wǎzú and wēi. Funny how we need what was originally an English term to be translated from Chinese back into English.

Pretty good huh?! I was just hunting for a good "cops and robbers" lesson and stumbled onto C-Pod's own super sleuth. Do you suppose there are any more of doc Misch's adventures posted somewhere?

Ol' Paul Kersey's got nothing on you! :-) I can just see it.

Well, it would seem our Korean friend and his partner just pulled a bank job, and now they're planning to alter their license plate in order to facilitate their getaway. The trouble is they can't decide whether to remain in "A" (Guangzhou) and try and blend in, head to "N" (Shanwei), or to go with the gutsier option "O" and try and pass themselves off as members of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Dept.

Personally, I'd advise against "O". Seems risky. They might consider ditching the car and heading to "Z" using public transit(?).

In the "Dad behind the Video Camera" lesson they used fàngdà (to zoom in), and suōxiǎo (to zoom out).

Oh, and in "First Snow of Winter" there was the line "xià de dà bu dà? (Is it snowing heavily?)".

Yeah, it's a real time saver. No more typing in triplicate.

Just duplicate. :-|

I find the "Read phonetically" tab comes in handy too. Saves typing tones.

"After Sputnik went up in 1958 my homework load increased about 10 fold." The politics of the book bag.

What I've been wondering is, when do Chinese kids sleep? Dilu mentioned having to stay up till 11 PM doing homework when she was 8. I assume kids probably get up around 6:30 7-ish. I don't see how they can be getting enough sleep. Doesn't sound healthy, but then I'm not any kind of expert or anything.
