when you're in Taiwan or in Taiwanese company stick with just "大陸" ...for whatever reason 中國 and 中國大陸 seem to be rarely used

to give people an idea of how many different ways there are to use "差不多", check out this song "差不多先生" by MC Hotdog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY1AlMJB2CE ...sounds like a translator's nightmare.

Also, just wanted to point out that computer terminology is almost always different in Taiwan. (maybe southern mainland too?) for example,

regarding the zhēng/zheng tone issue, jenny taught us in an earlier lesson that it is fēngzhēng, two first tones: http://chinesepod.com/lessons/a-walk-in-the-park (see jenny's comment with all the vocab). they must just be two different pronunciations used in different places. maybe someone from Cpod could verify this and perhaps tell us which pronunciations are used where?

I know 點火器 is a flame lighter or ignition device, and today learned 點煙器 from this lesson... does anbyody know of any other words that follow this pattern of 點...器?
