This rising CPI must be affecting the stock photo budget at CPOD.

If you're receiving compliments its probably good. I think people would tell you if it wasn't...also it may provide you with the benefit of becoming more heroic in reality, as you strive to live up to your moniker.

I forgot my 黑车的师傅 also asked me for my business card the other day, which I thought was peculiar.

Really wish I had seen this a half hour ago

I actually just chose my chinese name because it was a requirement for my company's business cards. I have been with the company for four months, but never bothered to order them. Today a neighbor gave me his so I thought it was high time.

I used this site http://www.mandarintools.com/chinesename.html

It chooses names based on your english name and whatever desirable quality you select (be it power/strength, wisdom/intelligence, beauty, etc.)

And chose

Sweet marketing ploy.:)

Any concerns about VOIP legislation and Skype becoming illegal? I trust you all are actively lobbying against it.

International school no question. You can teach your kid Mandarin or hire a tutor. I would disagree that its a foregone conclusion that the transition will be easier to the international school. Your child will lack skills which are more difficult to measure on the surface perhaps, but are essential nonetheless.

Also, the international school environment will have a uniquely diverse student body, providing much more enrichment.

I drive by a huge group of people doing the ballroom dancing on my commute home from work in Hangzhou. I think its hilarious, but great...its cool as a form of expression, good exercise and has a nice feeling of community. One day I will have the courage to partake.
