Posted on: Farewell, Sweet Pete
September 13, 2009 at 10:22 AMAwww man, I don't have sound on this computer, so I'll have to wait to find the details... But regardless Pete, it will be a loss not having you around. You cannot be replaced. Good luck. I'm sure your next move will be a worthy experience in your already rich life.

I found these packed away in my computer's dictionary:
- 生生不息,繁荣昌盛
- 愿你多福多寿
- 长寿且繁盛
I think the third bullet is the best. However, I must confess I'm a bit partial to your 长活兴旺 translation.

So are saying that they mean almost the same thing, but 甚至 has a stronger feeling of surprise?
顺便提一下,谢谢!

Is there a significant difference between 连 and 甚至?

Posted on: Tone Change Rule: Yi '一'
September 15, 2009 at 4:18 AMI thought I would make a friendly suggestion. Your pdf for this lesson says first tone for all cases of yi in the vocabulary. I think you will confuse some people. I know you said that you won't normally see this tone change written, but I think this episode is special. So I guess I'm saying you should change the pdf.
