Don't forget that at times there were several states co-existing with their own emperors and empresses.

great topic.  I don't think this has been covered before.  But if you work in an office or school, or need to fax some details to a travel agent etc.  this vocab is important.

Eating dogs has recently been banned in China, hasn't it? Koreans still eat them.

An Australian stereotype is that 中国人都是聪明。中国人都在数学和好。

And most of them do excel at Maths in Australia, but I know of some notable exceptions too. (I'm a high school ESL teacher)

And we haven't yet touched much on our own national stereotypes of other countires apart from China ... dare we?

In my experience my reading improves by practising handwriting characters. I believe the sight couples with motor skills memory to improve my recall.
