That's right, eating zongzi is a staple of Dragon Boat Festival. It is said that this custom was due to Qu Yuan too.

这个我知道，当年屈原投汨罗江自尽，百姓为了不让江中鱼虾把屈原吃掉，就将食物用竹叶包裹投入江中，后来就演变成今天我们吃的粽子了。

This I do know. At the time Qu Yuan committed suicide by throwing himself in the Miluo river. The local people wrapped food in bamboo leaves and threw it in the river to prevent the fish and shrimps from eating his body, and these evolved into the zongzi we eat today.

有一天，河边的渔夫认出了屈原，两人就谈起话来。
yǒu yī tiān ，hébiān de yúfū rènchū le Qū Yuán ，liǎng rén jiù tán qǐ huà lái 。
One day, a fisherman by the river recognised Qu Yuan and the two men began to talk.

屈原被放逐以后，常常在河边徘徊吟诗他的神情十分憔悴，身形也变得比以前瘦弱。
Qū Yuán bèi fàngzhú yǐhòu ，chángcháng zài hébiān páihuái yínshī tā de shénqíng shífēn qiáocuì ，shēnxíng yě biànde bǐ yǐqián shòu ruò 。
After Qu Yuan's banishment, he was often found pacing up and down the riverside reciting poetry. His expression was ghostly and ashen. He also started to become thin and weak.

Qu Yuan was an very important official in the state of Chu. He was later framed by treacherous state officials and ended up offending the king. He was then banished to the northern regions of the Han River.

Qu Yuan felt that everyone's mind was muddied, only he was clear of mind. Everyone was drunk and intoxicated by the terrible world around them, and he was the only one that was sober.
