Yes, your sentence is more complete. But Chinese is a context-based language which means that when the information is given in the context, we would not say it. So, in this case, it's okay to not say 今年才得到这份工作.

March 10, 2020 at 5:39 AMWhen 拜拜 is translated to "bye-bye", people pronounce it as 1st tone. However, if you look up the dictionary, you would find that 拜 is 4th tone. This situation is actually quite normal in Chinese. For example, 思 is 1st tone, but in 不好意思, it becomes 5th tone.
