March 4, 2020 at 6:27 AMWe use 是 for emphasizing the information after it. And since the information that the speaker want to emphasize in 我叫他到对面上班的 is 我, we put 是 in front of it. So the whole sentence is 是我叫他到对面上班的.

Those three 不可以 in the dialogue are all correct. They all mean "you can't eat socks." As for the exercises, both 可以 and 不可以 work. Thanks for pointing out the problem. We would fix it right away.

March 4, 2020 at 6:30 AM一起 means "together". Here, we need a word for "in total" which is 一共. So only 一共四十块钱 is correct.
