January 18, 2017 at 1:18 AMIt should say Quiz and is the sentences with A/B/A towards the end. I'll embed something later that makes it more interactive.

January 17, 2017 at 12:55 PMQuick response for now: firstly, well done for keeping up the listening. Even 1 a week is pretty good going. While I ruminate over your question, why not try posting it on our forum. Hopefully, other users have experience cramming for a trip to see the in-laws, or for an exam.

Also in terms of topical lessons, you could check out the CNY playlist and see if anything tickles your hong bao: https://chinesepod.com/library/courses/chinese-new-year/908

January 17, 2017 at 7:29 AMThis was a more difficult lesson than normal I agree, but since it was part two of a set, it made sense to put it in on the harder side of the intermediate scale rather than placing it in upper-intermediate and learners not studying it.
Despite there being quite a lot of specialised or technical language, the grammar is more simple and doesn't deem it hard enough for upper intermediate.
For me, and for lessons like this, I prefer to pre-learn the new nouns etc so that when I see them in an otherwise normal conversation, it's not as hard as it looks. I often trip up in even the simplest setting when confronted with a word I don't know or wasn't expecting. In terms of level, if you look at very early Intermediate ChinesePod lessons, these would actually be better suited to an elementary level, or better yet, the pre-intermediate level that we hope to add soon.
Don't feel bad if you struggled with this lesson. I found it difficult also, especially since I'm not often signing leases :) Just take your time and study it a few times. Even if you just take away a few of the key phrases, it will have been worth it.

January 17, 2017 at 7:15 AMThe "text" files are actually just HTML web pages, and have never been traditional.txt files. It seems like perhaps something on firebox has changed where perhaps it used to see the webpages and give the option to save as a .txt file.
We have never offered a version that saved as a text file, even if it was possible to do that from the HTML.
My suggestion is to use some sort of web clipper and clip the content of the page and save to your favourite place. Popular clippers include Pocket/Microsoft OneNote Web Clipper and Evernote Webcliper.
I hope these alternatives provide a solution. If anything they are perhaps a better way to save and categorise the text files and will make searching easier since two of them offer OCR.
Alternatively, download the PDF notes instead, although these files are larger by a factor of 10 and don't include the Expansion elements.
If you have other technical questions, it's best to ask either at support@chinesepod.com, or on our forum, since we prefer to leave the lesson comments for chat about the language. Alternatively you can email me directly at gwilym@chinesepod.com for any other questions.

January 17, 2017 at 7:08 AMNetflix is available in over 200 countries as of about a year. I doubt it's available in China though. The good thing about Netflix here is that all shows have Chinese subtitles, and there are more and more Chinese/Japanese movies. I'm currently watching A series of Unfortunate Events with the subtitles set to Chinese naturally :)

January 17, 2017 at 7:02 AMHere are some alternative ways you could translate it:
I know of him, but I don't know him (personally).
I know of him, but we've not been acquitted.
I've heard of him, but I don't actually know him (on a personal level).
Thanks.

January 12, 2017 at 3:39 AMTry downloading the app Vici and seeing what takes your fancy. They have all the Asian dramas on there with subtitles, and ability to search by region.
You can also try watching Zhen Huan Zhuan (Empress in the Palace) on Netflix. It's perhaps the most famous "period drama" and was re-edited by Netflix from like 60+ shows down to 6 feature length ones. I personally enjoyed it, but it's no Game of Thrones ;)

January 12, 2017 at 3:01 AMYes that's a highly requested feature and something we are looking into doing. We are currently working on an update to the site, and hope to have this category soon.
That being said, this is an Intermediate Bridge lesson which means it's a difficult Intermediate lesson, designed to prepare you for Upper Intermediate. A higher Intermediate if you will. If you've not already seen, we have a playlist called Daily Life 4 which
If you've not already seen, we have a playlist called Daily Life 4 which is designed to go from Ele>Int:
