I would say this is more a tip for learners of Chinese who take a reductionist approach to Chinese. Many students might look up the character in a dictionary and learn 前 as to mean in front, and then later on get confused by its second meaning of "before". We asked around the office, and in general, everyone still point to the back when talking about the past, but this gesture is not as common as in English. The lesson audio files should now play on the website and iOS/Android app. Apologies.

I have reduced the background SFX on the dialogue track and boosted the audio levels. Hope that helps

If you're talking about the man in the dialogue, we chose to record a speed close to natural speed when ordering something like a tea. If you would like to listen to the slowed down sentences by sentence version, Constance has recorded each line here. :)

Hi Mingmao , we shot a short video for you while out for lunch to hopefully make things clearer.  The video is embedded in the lesson description above.

On most Chinese menus there is a menu that has empty boxes next to each item.  You usually add the table number to the top, and then write how many items you want on the menu next to the food you want.  I'll try and get a picture next time we have lunch with this type of menu.
