How about this?
还是 can mean 'should do something', 'it's best to do something', 还不是 maybe could be literally 'parsed' to mean 'is it not better to do something?'
各 here has the sense of 'each'.
If one was to attempt a highly literal translation one might therefore come out with:
Isn't it better each goes his/her own (each) road?
Awkward I know but hope that helps.

October 11, 2009 at 1:15 AM多得是 (duō de shì) is an idiomatic expression here, probably best to just swallow it down as one of Uncle Ken's 'lexical chunks'!
I've noticed these Lili & Zhang Liang lessons feature a fair amount of highly colloquial and authentic 口语.

October 11, 2009 at 12:48 AMIn all honesty you guys should be aware that the problem was (almost certainly) not entirely CPod. All over China the internet performance has been highly erratic just before, during, and just after the National Day holiday week. As I've mentioned elsewhere it's now de rigueur here for the powers-that-be to hobble and generally fiddle about with the web at such times. Living in the west you probably cannot understand the true situation here.
