October 3, 2009 at 11:26 PMI've been getting this too. Most likely it won't really stop happening until after the National Day holiday week is over, around October 7th.

October 3, 2009 at 10:12 AMWell mate, I've tried that link and get nothing. That only means of course that it probably is being blocked in China. I guess some things we're just not meant to see. So, back to things we are.

October 3, 2009 at 4:09 AMPrettiest jackboots I ever did see! Maybe 'glamboots'? ![]()
Or perhaps those reporters meant these, (bit of a heel there too actually!)

@matt, I aim to please! ![]()

October 2, 2009 at 2:02 AMOh well, for those seeking Chinese study rather than entertainment, why don't we (as Jenny seemed to hope) turn our attention to the 词语: 黄花大闺女.
What does 洋洋 actually mean when she calls herself this?

October 2, 2009 at 12:31 AMI've just watched a rather nice time-lapse version of the parade here and can't resist sharing it. Hmm... that's right chanelle, in retrospect those alluring short-skirted military ladies were definitely the highlight. No wonder the cadres didn't want 洋鬼子 oglers on the streets!

October 1, 2009 at 7:37 AMjaym,it's not ridiculous, it's subtle, it's the way history is made in China. Many people will see this lesson now and in the future and think that's how it really was.
Who cares about human rights anyway, I'm sick of hearing about those. It's 'youtube rights' I'd go on a march for, (but maybe not today in Tiananmen, those big freudian ballistic missiles look like they gotta hurt.)
And China can keep Tibet, those yakherders don't know what's good for them, and those monks had it way too good for way too long, right? If they were in power now they'd have youtube and their own Facebook page, lasagne for dinner with a glass of Baileys to follow, and the hoi polloi would all be choking on yakfat. Nowadays they can get chickens feet and jellyfish and stuff, and that's called 'progress.' Simple.

October 1, 2009 at 2:43 AMHighly appropriate that baba's video (as usual) is blocked for those of us actually in China.
The web censors here must currently be very pleased with themselves. There has been an almighty clampdown of late and just about every way (I know) of squeezing through the 'Great Firewall' has been blocked.
Anyway spare a thought for all the happy marching troops in Tiananmen, reportedly only permitted to blink once every 40 seconds.

October 5, 2009 at 11:56 AMYou want to know their names and addresses? Hmm... I'll put in a request to China Military HQ. I'm not promising anything mind. How about their phone numbers? Come to think of it, I'm sure we could talk the red army into expanding into cyberspace with kind of like a Chinese Jackboot Babe website, profiling and introducing each one? Could be great, think about it.
