I just hope that question doesn't compel anyone to post a photo of a tiger's 家伙. ;)

Good story pete, perhaps he would have had the gall bladder for breakfast when he woke up in the morning? Good phrase too, 成语 right?

Your use of the word moxie in connection with the concept of the 'humours' reminds me of Eliot's Shakespeherian rag again. Moxie is a very 20s word I seem to think. Anyway few western people nowadays would attribute emotional states to an excess or lack of black or yellow bile, phlegm or blood. It seems in China though such ideas are still very much alive.

Gall bladder seems an odd translation for 胆子 in the supplementary vocab. My little handheld dictionary defines it as 'courage, guts, nerve', which seems to fit with the other words using 胆.

放开胆子吧! Pluck up your courage!
你大着胆子去,不要怕。Go right ahead, don't be scared.

P.S. A huge improvement in the Exercise section, thank you very much. Actually, re. the "Dictation" part, I'd like to see that same style of loading the sound files used for the Expansion, Dialogue and Vocab pages, as sometimes when my internet connection is slow, I can be waiting long for those sounds to be heard.

Why oh why do some people feel it necessary to be rude when coming out with the same old boring whining we've heard so often before?

pete, if I had one tenth of the linguistic and teaching skill that you have I would consider myself a fortunate person. Please do not be disheartened for a moment by ts9007s mindless grumbling, (even one of those internal moments of self-doubt that all humans are afflicted with!)

Bob is actually completely right when he remarks that actually, for serious study, QW is actually much better now!

zhenlijiang, there's no need to apologize to me, OK! I'd just like to see everyone playing nice! (I'm kinda wishing I'd never asked that question about 温顺 now though!)

Oh dear, I hope we're not going to have more unpleasantness. Please calm down people. How about we all just chill a little? Please?

By the way I like your new avatar miantiao!

Ah, so I was right!

I think!

By accident though.

miantiao, 谢谢大哥,I thought that's what you said, my understanding of artful irony in Chinese needs polishing up! Good to have you around again to stretch me!
