I must confess 真利江, I kinda stalled on studying that lesson! (It's still on my 'to do' list though!) Life with a small baby in the home seems to leave one with little time for the luxury of long study as I was wont to do before! Just keeping up with Intermediate seems to take up all my time. I'll get back to it though, I promise.
Err... oh dear, off-topic diversion over before the DP emerge from the zombie cavern!

July 30, 2009 at 2:07 AMHi Luke, you're right, 逛逛 can mean to roam around, and can include window-shopping if you are 逛街! You can also 逛公园, and then you're just strolling around, looking about.
It's probably not easy to pin down a precise difference in meaning with 看一看, because like you suggest context is the thing in Chinese.
If you were looking around a shop and you told the (in China constantly hovering) clerk 我就看一下 or 我就看一看 we could translate it as 'I'm just having a look'. If you said 我逛逛 it would mean pretty much the same - 'I'm just browsing/looking round'.
