yea, the firefox mandarin pop up is a great tool but I do usually turn it off when reading a chinesepod dialogue online.

Nor does the fact that they seem to constantly keep users in the dark about changes in the website and staff changes helps either.

I totally agree. I think it's more of a sign of insecurity that they would resort to deleting comments that refer to other competing services. If Chinesepod was confident in its services, it wouldn't really matter if people were discussing competing services.

But getting our comments deleted has really drove me over the edge. I had been considering leaving Chinesepod for a while especially when John and Connie left. I felt the quality of lessons had gone down and that the constant errors and mistakes in the transcripts really irked me. Also the staff has been less responsive to questions on the board.

But being treated with such disdain by Chinesepod staff and getting my comments deleted has really done it for me now.

I have enough material from Chinesepod to last me for a while and will probably not re-up before my subscription expires in May.

No one has been uncivil. We are being critical because a significant change to the website was sprung on users without any forewarning or any testing. But apparently its easier to blame the users for exaggerating complaints then to acknowledge that.

Apparently chinesepod believes now that the user is always wrong. Im sorry that you all don't respect our legitimate complaints.

ditto for me. I hate the lay out of the lesson page now. why are the tabs relegated to the very bottom of the page now? It's quite annoying.

Actually I'm not confusing the two, I've listened to plenty of intermediate and upper intermediate podcasts and that's exactly the format. upper intermediate is usually a foreign and chinese host speaking chinese with occasional translations by the foreign host.

If you listened to any qingwen podcast that connie was in (which were all of the qingwens before she left in January), she almost never spoke English except for the occasional word or phrase. She also spoke at a faster conversational pace. This helped my listening skills tremendously.
