channa, Using 对 (duì) doesn't make you sound too pushy. It just expresses certainty.

hi user17838, The key to the 都 (dōu) is in the first part of that sentence: 我有好多不懂的东西,他都耐心地教我。 Wǒ yǒu hǎoduō bù dǒng de dōngxi, tā dōu nàixīn de jiāo wǒ. So it means he will teach her 'all' of the things she doesn't understand.

hi bazza, 系鞋带 (Jì xiédài) tie shoelace 打领带 (Dǎ lǐngdài) tie a necktie In Chinese, unlike English, the actions for each of these items is considered different, thus the 系 (Jì) and the 打 ((Dǎ) are not interchangeable.

hi wjeffreys, Your versions of that question and answer are correct as well. The 有 (yǒu) can be omitted, and the meaning won't change.

zhexuejia, 教 (jiāo) is first tone when used as the verb, 'to teach'. It is fourth tone most often when used in combination with other words, i.e.: jiao1:教我学汉语 (Jiāo wǒ xué Hànyǔ) jiao4:教室 (jiàoshì) classroom 教师 (jiàoshī) teacher 教练 (jiàoliàn) coach 教训 (jiàoxun) to lecture

I think the best breakfasts are in Taiwan. I miss the breakfast shops everywhere. Especially the 豆浆 (dòujiāng) shops with 饭团 (fàntuán) and 馒头加蛋 (mántou jiā dàn). Ah the smell of fresh hot 豆浆 (dòujiāng). yummy.
