August 8, 2007 at 8:37 AMhi henning, That example sentence is a little confused. It is actually grouped together incorrectly. That sentence is not using 气质 (qìzhì), rather, it is trying to use 空气 质量 (Kōngqì zhìliàng). It's just been grouped in the wrong place. Sorry for the confusion. Yes, 气质 (qìzhì) means temperament, disposition. When you use the phrase 很有气质 (hěn yǒu qìzhì), its always positive, meaning as explained above.

You can use the expression 很有气质 (Hěn yǒu qìzhì) to describe a person who has a certain, how shall I say, "Je ne sais quoi." How about that, using French to explain, haha. Kind of like "a way about a person". A grace, an air about them... that sort of thing!

August 8, 2007 at 6:20 AMhi hieuhoc, The meaning of the word 从来 (cónglái) on its own is "always, all along". Most of the time, however, you will see it in combination with 不 (bù) or 没有 (méiyǒu). When 从来 (cónglái) is negated, the meaning becomes "never".
