So, in the example where it says 你养猫吗？ Nǐ yǎng māo ma？ It means, "Do you have a cat?" (literally "raise a cat") But in this sentence, what it really is emphasising is that "I have one cat". 我有一只猫。 Wǒ yǒu yī zhī māo. You can also just say: 我有猫。 Wǒ yǒu māo. if the number is not what is being expressed.

July 30, 2007 at 8:38 AMhi wenjong, The sentence and the recording both say: 我没有结婚，我是单身。 (Wǒ méiyǒu jiéhūn, wǒ shì dānshēn.) However, that being said, you could leave the 有 (yǒu) in or out. It depends on the speakers preference, it is not essential to the sentence.

Here is just a little tweaking to make them a little more smooth: 我以为这是不可能的，因为他们已经很棒了。 (Wǒ yǐwéi zhè shì bu kěnéng de, yīnwèi tāmen yǐjing hěn bàng le.) 我爱请问，因为我觉得它对我很有用。 (Wǒ ài Qǐng Wèn, yīnwèi wǒ juéde tā duì wǒ hěn yǒuyòng.) I love Qing Wen, because I find it very useful for me. :)

July 30, 2007 at 8:13 AMHi Bazza, Good try on the 又... 又 construction! Typically, if you use this construction, you wouldn't use it in combination with superlatives. So, instead, we took out the 最 (zuì), and it looks like this: 我觉得你们又好又漂亮。 (Wǒ juéde nǐmen yòu hǎo yòu piàoliang.) If you wanted to add the 老师 (lǎoshī), you would first have to add 是 (shì). 我觉得你们是又好又漂亮的老师。 (Wǒ juéde nǐmen shì yòu hǎo yòu piàoliang de lǎoshī.)
