My Chinese name is 子安  (zǐ'ān).  I like this one, so I'm sticking with it.  Jenny helped me choose it.  It's easy to write!  Which always helps in a Chinese name. :)

琥珀 (hǔpò) is 'amber'... but everyone says it's weird as a name in Chinese.

If you were to translate that directly to Chinese, you would say:

希望你有愉快的一天。Xīwàng nǐ yǒu yúkuài de yī tiān.

希望你过得愉快！Xīwàng nǐ guo de yúkuài！

An interesting cultural note, however, is that Chinese people generally don't say that when sending their children off to school.  Rather, they would say something like:

好好学习  (Hǎohāo xuéxí)  'study hard'
别贪玩 (Bié tānwán)  'don't fool around'

You use 公 (gōng) for males, 母 (mǔ) for female animals:

公牛 (gōngniú)
母牛 (mǔniú)

公鸡 (gōngjī)
母鸡 (mǔjī)
