hi acorrigan,

The Chinese word for Portugal is just a transliteration.  Nothing to do with the great wine from there :)

hi Adam,

和 (hé) in this context means 'with.'  Actually you could also use 跟 (gēn) instead in this sentence.

hi rash

吵醒 (chǎoxǐng) means that you are awoken by a noise. 吵 (chǎo) means to be noisy.  So it wouldn't be used in the context of this dialogue.

Other words you can combine with 醒 (xǐng):

睡醒 (shuìxǐng) to wake up
你睡醒了吗?Nǐ shuìxǐng le ma?

饿醒 (è xǐng) to wake up because you're hungry
昨晚我饿醒了。Zuówǎn wǒ è xǐng le.

热醒 (rè xǐng) to wake up because you're hot
