I think 撞球 (zhuàngqiú) is just another variation of the game. But it is not commonly seen in mainland China.

July 14, 2008 at 3:02 AMhi everyone, re: 早就 (zǎojiù):
早就:
When you use 早就 (zǎojiù) indicates that an action already happened, and emphasizes that it was sometime in the past, a period of time ago:
You can also say:
我已经告诉过你了
Wǒ yǐjing gàosu guò nǐ le
But this doesn't emphasize the time, it is just a more vague, 'already'.
As far as the 过 (guò) and the 了 (le), both mean past tense, the 过 (guò) has more to do with having been experienced before, the 了 (le) meaning a completed action. You will often see the 了 at the end of a 早就 (zǎojiù) sentence.

“做” and “干” both mean 'to do' and can often be used interchangeably, however there are some times that you can use “做” but not “干”, i.e.:
做作业 (zuò zuoyè) to do an assignment
做生意 (zuò shēngyi) to do business
做饭 (zuòfàn) to make food

干吗 (gànmá)
the “吗” (má) in means "什么". There are some other words that use the “吗” (má) in second tone, but they are not very common.

The connection problem with Taiwan is caused by the bad connection that seems to be happening between the US server and Taiwan right now.
The solution is to use a US based proxy while accessing our sites.

"Due to the time difference, I am usually unsure when to call our international customers."
因为有时差,我常常不知道什么时候给国外顾客打电话好。

很久以前 (hěn jiǔ yǐqián) means a longer time ago than 早就 (zǎojiù).
