June 10, 2008 at 6:14 AMBefore I turned six, I had to learn to sing 三民主义, and that was when I was in the Philippines! Come to think of it, I sang the first four words and hummed the rest back then. ;-)
Anyway, there are people who consider 孙中山 as 国父. I vaguely remember the elementary school lesson on how it took perserverence and several attempts to overthrow the Manchu dynasty. If I recall correctly, I think I remember regurgitating the following words to my Chinese teacher: "...终于打翻满清政府."
