For me Pete's poems pods is the first entry inside chinese poetry, and the reading makes me quite uncomfortable : it sounds so... hum... overplayed ?
Is this the normal way to read them ?

I think 快乐 is more like "generally happy" and 高兴 more like "happy now and there". In french it would be "heureux" against "content".
But not sure. Maybe it's just the same.

Ok, I know, but still... I think a little help in the transcript would greatly help us to memorize those rules and not get mixed with them. At least for newbies and Elementaries. It's not always that clear in the dialogue... and specially the 一 changes are tricky. I don't no, maybe just underline the pinyin when there's a change ?

By the way, the subject has been touched before, but I insist : it would be very good if you guys could find a way to show us both the "normal" tone and the "spoken" one.
Maybe write the spoken tone but put it in blue so we know it's been changed. Or let it like this but find any way to remind us to change it.
For instance, I saw 这是 zhe4 shi4 and I suddenly panicked : should I say zhe2 shi4 ??? Does this apply here ???? My heart's still racing.
I mean, some of us have only CPod !!!

I agree with Obitod (good to have students' opinions about this, not only teachers')
Practical is good, crazy is better. And in Upper Intermediate I think it's time to go wider than everyday words. Ok, I'm not there yet, but I'm impatient.
What if your buddies start talking about the gobi desert at lunch ? And they will because they always seem to follow what you just learned, right ? Talk about a movie ? A book ? The army experiences of your friends ? Some war in a desertic country ?
And I must say, this lesson is practical. So practical. God, it's about life and death !

I completely agree with Inland : I often get completely lost in the voices. Specially the last "Lao Wang" episode (without Lao Wang), I think there's only one actor there, right ?
It would greatly help if you could choose more different voices...
About food now, we've been to Hangzhou this week-end, and I must say that we tried the 3 specialties and it's pretty good, but I would never trade a Xihucuyu against a kaoyu in Huairou ! :o)
Anyway, Hangzhou = +++. Clean, neat, charming city, and amazing mountains.
