zani,

only one recipe : 45min to one hour every day even if it rains, winds, snows, if your boss threatens to fire you, if your parents judge you, if your dog turns his back on you, one hour. Not more, not less. Listen to one dialogue 10, 15 times, untill you dream of it. Last but not least, don't be impatient. Don't expect to much from yourself.

And start with the newbies ! They're excellent !

"Btw, we need a lesson about flavors and tastes."

Recently, we offered a nice bottle of french wine to a couple of friends for her birthday.

They opened it in the KTV and served it with ice cubes in each glass.

As long as most people don't really care about the quality, chinese wine will keep being bad... and I often get the feeling that this is a problem that concerns many goods in China : clothes, food, etc. Customers are not demanding enough (at least in domains were the knowledge is too recent).

People around me always use 礼拜 li3bai4(礼拜三, 礼拜四) in order to name the day. 星期 xing1qi1 is quite rare. I never heard 周三 but I often see it written (shops schedules).

But strangely, even my Chinese Typer Program doesn't know 礼拜三。

Does is have something to do with Beijing ? Or is it to make it easier for us foreigners hanging around ? (libai is much easier to pronounce, I highly recomand it !!)

"Haha, 马马虎虎 is the "comme ci, comme ça" of Chinese."

Exactly ! We never use that in French but all learners know this one ;o)

Thanks Kimiik for illustrations :oD
