June 12, 2011 at 7:41 AMYeah, I don't think 中文餐 is ok, but 中餐 is. Even though I have been studying Chinese for years, I still sometimes come close to saying "中文" when I mean “中国.”

June 10, 2011 at 9:05 AMThanks for the great lesson! Food safety here in China is something I have been thinking about a lot lately. I already don't eat meat here so that rules out a lot of the problems, but obviously if watermelon is explodng nothing is safe. Even as I write this there's a newscast going on about how poisoned 粽子 have possibly caused miscarriages. I don't have enough money to buy organic/imported everything and I definitely don't have anywhere to plant my own vegetables. I also find it hard to resist 烧烤 so who knows how much 地沟油 I have already ingested. 唉，现在的生活真不容易呵。

If you want something left out (msg/pepper/ect) you can simply say 不要放 XXX búyào fàng XXX 。

June 12, 2011 at 8:48 AMOops, hopefully that's the first time I have butchered the spelling of your name. Seems like there are a lot of guys on here so I tend to assume most people that don't have an overly feminine picture and/or user name are males. That's not to say your name/avatar are not feminine (I'm not sure what either are actually) or that I think it's inappropriate for males to have feminine user names and/or avatars.
