July 2, 2007 at 3:41 PMI know this is an old lesson, but I hope someone will browse back here. 哪里 is a very interesting expression. If a Chinese politician receives a compliment, something like: "Sir, you are so honest!" Would he respond with "哪里,哪里"? If not, what do we say in response to a compliment that cannot be denied? It's like a "your so beautiful today" paradox. Further, how can I translate "Sir, you are so honest!"? I think a lesson about politics and elections would be propitious. thank you, marcos, Brazil
