March 9, 2008 at 4:24 AMCan anyone explain the following expansion sentence? 这么晚了，他应该走了。 zhème wǎn le, tā yīnggāi zǒu le. It's so late, he should leave. I can't figure out how 这么晚了 (zhème wǎn le) translates into "It's so late...". Thanks.

March 7, 2008 at 12:09 AMWhy is there no 的 (de) in this sentence: 我要一份中文报纸。 (I want a Chinese newspaper.) ...like there is in this sentence: 你要甚麼書？中文的還是英文的？ (Which book do you want? Chinese or English?)

March 7, 2008 at 12:04 AMI'm assuming the follow, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong: 看不懂 (kànbùdǒng) is used when you don't understand something that you're reading... and 听不懂 (tīngbùdǒng) is used when you don't understand something audible.

March 10, 2008 at 8:27 PMBefore this lesson gets removed, I wanted to ask...what's the difference between: 很高兴认识你。 hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ. Very nice to meet you. 认识你很高兴。 rènshi nǐ hěn gāoxìng. Very nice to meet you. I've seen both of them used. Is one more accepted, or does it not matter? Thanks!
