Kaisa, thanks for your explanation on 这些 (zhèxiē). It makes sense that you can only use a measure word when describing a certain number of something. 谢谢 !

songhailing, thanks for your answer! I'm actually wondering more about 这些 (zhèxiē). I've never seen "these" written this way. Why wouldn't 这本 (zhè běn) be used for "these books..." ? Is there a specific rule for when 这些 (zhèxiē) should be used?

Fun lesson! In the expansion sentence "这些书都是我的" (These books are all mine), does 这些 (zhèxiē) mean "these"? Why is there no measure word for books...本 (běn) ? Would it be wrong to say: 这本书都是我的。 zhè běn shū dōu shì wǒ de. Or would that only mean "This book..." ?
