July 13, 2008 at 1:49 AMGreat! I was waiting for this one! Perfect lesson for a "lazy expat wife" ;-).
I was playing golf in Nanjing and the caddies could speak some German! That was a bit of a surprise...

July 3, 2008 at 9:57 AMHi clarse, guys,
I am planning to take the HSK in december in Nanjing. From what I hear, the first levels aren't too bad. If you google a bit then you will find loads of info on the HSK. Too bad the mock test are not working anymore on the official site(http://www.hsk.org.cn/english/Default.aspx), but there is info when and where you can take the exam (also in Shanghai). Good luck!

May 28, 2008 at 9:25 AMLove the lesson! One small remark; when I try to do the exercises, I get the Newbie, "When will he return" ones, which seems a little odd ;-) ....

May 20, 2008 at 11:38 PMAbout being a vegetarian (Kesirui) in China I can say the following: On the one hand it is hard because meat is so "important" and you find it in many "vegetable" dishes. On the other hand you have all the lovely new vegetables and otehr dished. I just try to work around the rou4 a bit. The hardest thing is propably my Ayi. She kept asking me why i do not eat meat. It is much better for my health if i do so! After several discussions and explenations I gave up and told her I was Buddhist :-).

May 1, 2008 at 3:54 AMThat book (i have the Dutch edition) is fantastic, i like to read the stories behind characters, so i remember them better and make connections. Maybe someone has another good suggestion on the etymology of characters?

May 1, 2008 at 1:41 AMReally enjoyed this lesson: maybe Amsterdam / Holland could also be nice :-). When I went to Paris one of my favorite's were the visits to the hughe Sephora at the Champs-Élysées, but now China has them too! Oh I love China. Also looking forward to Frenchpod and brushing up my rusty French.

July 13, 2008 at 5:19 AMHi Kesirui, here in Nanjing are several courses and driving ranges available. I think pretty much the same for similar and bigger cities in China. Personally, I think the (service)quality is also quite good compared to Europe. Unfortunately as mentioned in the dialogue it is quite expensive. On the bright side though, we bought some "nice new knock-off Callaways" in Shanghai last weekend.
